Garden House — Fresh Flavors, Clear Design
Garden House / Menu - Case Study
2024.
Custom Menu Design - Creative Direction - Final Printed Materials.
we designed a menu for Garden House that blends freshness with a Traditional Colombian touch.
Inspired by the restaurant’s fresh and relaxed atmosphere, the layout and color palette were curated to feel both authentic and approachable. Every detail, from typography to images, was chosen to enhance the dining experience while staying true to the brand’s Colombian essence.
The Creative Process:
1. Brand Discovery – Understood Garden House’s identity, menu focus, and customer preferences.
2. Design Direction – Selected a fresh, Traditional style inspired by natural ingredients and Colombian spaces.
3. Typography & Colors – Chose bold typefaces and a colorfull palette to reflect the brand’s essence.
4. Layout & Hierarchy – Organized sections for quick scanning and emphasis on signature dishes.
5. Final Touches – Delivered press-ready files and printing guidance to match the design vision.
We didn’t rely on a single typeface. This menu uses a deliberate mix of styles: serif for the romantic headline tone, geometric sans serif for clarity, and italics to break hierarchy inside each dish name.
It’s not a random mix — it’s functional contrast. Classic typography helps frame the dining experience as thoughtful and crafted. The sans serif brings structure and readability. Together, they feel curated rather than ornamental.
The menu’s background wasn’t random. We built it from a visual reference rooted in traditional Colombian tile work — the kind of hydraulic tiles you still find in houses across Medellín or Cartagena.
This is how design feels intentional: not invented, but drawn from a place that already lives in the brand’s atmosphere.
